SendTidings vs WP Umbrella.

WP Umbrella looks after WordPress sites: backups, uptime, PHP errors, vulnerabilities, with white-label maintenance reports included. SendTidings is a client-reporting product for any stack. Both send a monthly report, and that is where the similarity ends.

Pick WP Umbrella if

You need the care plan itself: backups, uptime monitoring, PHP error tracking, vulnerability scanning and one-click updates, on WordPress. Per-site pricing suits a small or growing list, and the white-label maintenance report is bundled in rather than billed as an extra.

Pick SendTidings if

The maintenance is handled and what’s missing is the client-facing story: traffic, search, real enquiries and goals, on a live white-label dashboard opened without a login, plus a plain monthly letter. One flat fee for the whole roster, WordPress or not.

Proof of care, or proof it’s working.

WP Umbrella is a good piece of software aimed squarely at the care plan. It watches for the things that go wrong on WordPress: a site falling over, a PHP error nobody noticed, a plugin with a known vulnerability, a backup that needs taking. Its reports reflect that job, and they do it well. If your monthly email needs to prove the maintenance is real, it is bundled in at no extra cost, which is more than most maintenance tools manage.

SendTidings answers the question that comes after. Your client rarely lies awake about PHP notices; they wonder whether the site is bringing in work. So the report leads with visitors and their direction of travel, where they came from, how search performed, and the enquiries the site actually produced. Goals turn that into something the client watches month to month, and it all sits on a live white-label dashboard they open from a secure link, alongside the plain monthly letter.

These two stack neatly rather than compete. WP Umbrella keeps the sites healthy and proves you did the work; SendTidings shows the client what the work produced. If you run a care plan and a retainer conversation, you probably want both, and one of them needs to work on the clients who aren’t on WordPress.

When the care plan is the product.

  • You need maintenance, not just reporting. Backups, uptime, PHP error tracking and vulnerability monitoring are the job, and the report is a by-product. SendTidings does none of that.
  • Every client is on WordPress. It is a WordPress-only tool and none the worse for it.
  • Your list is small. Per-site pricing is kind when you have a handful of sites, and you only pay for what you look after.
  • The report needs to prove the care plan. If the monthly email exists to show uptime held and updates were applied, that report is included.

When the client needs more than “nothing broke”.

Our client dashboard, branded to your agency.
  • Your clients aren’t all on WordPress. One consistent report across Shopify, static builds and whatever a previous agency left behind.
  • You want enquiries in the report. Call clicks, form submissions and purchases are the numbers that justify a retainer, and they are the ones a maintenance report leaves out.
  • The bill shouldn’t climb with the roster. £29/month covers up to 20 client sites and £79 up to 75, rather than a per-site charge on every win.
  • You want a live dashboard too. Clients open a white-labelled view with a magic link, no password, whenever they think to look.
