For years the monthly report has answered a question the client never quite asked. Visitors, pageviews, bounce rate: all true, all a little beside the point. The person paying you runs a business. They don’t lie awake wondering how many people looked at the site. They wonder whether it’s bringing in work.
So we built the part that answers that. It’s called Enquiries & Events, and it puts the real outcomes — the calls, the emails, the enquiry forms, the sales — right next to the traffic.
What it tracks
The customer actions that tend to mean money:
- Call clicks — someone tapped the number to call.
- Email clicks — someone tapped the address to write.
- Contact-form submissions — someone actually sent an enquiry.
- WooCommerce purchases — someone bought something.
Each shows up with its count for the month and how it compares to the month before, so it’s obvious at a glance whether enquiries are climbing or drying up.
Where it shows
The two places your clients already look:
- On the client dashboard, a new Enquiries & Events card sits on the Overview, each action with its number and its month-on-month change.
- In the monthly report email, Enquiries now appears as a headline figure next to the visitor numbers — the one line a client’s boss reads and nods at.
How it works
It reads these as named events from your site’s own privacy-friendly analytics. There’s no second tracking script from us, and no analytics “goals” to wire up. If the events are being recorded, SendTidings surfaces them; that’s the setup.
Two honest notes while it’s early. It works with Plausible-based analytics for now — GA4 support isn’t here yet. And it’s rolling out in early access, so if it isn’t on every site the moment you look, it’s on its way.
Why it’s the number that matters
“You had 14,000 visitors last month” is a nice stat. “You got 38 enquiries, up 9 on last month” is a reason to keep paying you. Traffic is the means; enquiries are the end, and the end is what a client remembers when the renewal comes round. Pageviews prove the site is busy. Enquiries prove you’re worth it. We’d rather your report made that case for you, every first of the month, without you having to say a word.
